About Us: Established 1986

In The Mind’s Eye is a small Mom & Pop business located in the Beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, right on the shores of Lake Superior, in a town called L’Anse. We are the doorway to the Copper Country, an area rich in Native American and Immigrant culture, as well as a history that is rich in mining, lumber and fishing industries. Combine all of that with our rustic natural scenic beauty and you have great place to work, live or visit.

Text Box: But don’t let our small size fool you. We are a full service One Hour and custom photo lab. We can handle both Digital and traditional Film (Color, Black & White and Slide film) and make you prints for your wallet or your wall. We also have a full line of art supplies for the artist and when you have finished creating that perfect picture or painting we can even frame it in our Custom Frame Shop. Sit down with us and your artwork and pick out that perfect frame/mat/glass combination to show it off. We also have a Gallery and Gift section featuring unique cards, gifts and prints created by our own local and resident artists. We also feature an in store Studio where we can make I.D. and Passport photos as well as individual and family portraits. We also do commercial/industrial photography and digital restoration of old and damaged photos. As you can see by our service mix above, most of our services are best served by working with our customers face to face. Some things can be done over the phone, internet or mail and we welcome your calls, but we would rather welcome you to come in and browse. Well that’s who we are, small but friendly.
